Iron Man is currently one of Marvel’s hottest properties in terms of branching out into other media and franchising opportunities, meaning that it was no surprise when it was announced that Tony Stark and his shiny high tech powered suit would be showing up in the world of anime, in a collaboration with famed anime studio Madhouse.

What resulted from this was an action-packed 12 episode long anime series from director Yuzo Sato and writer Warren Ellis, that places Iron Man straight in Japan on a quest to solve the world’s energy crisis and in the process bring him into direct conflict with the powerful and enigmatic terrorist group, Zodiac!
